Who We Are

Winnipeg Triathlon Club has been operating since 2014 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We are a diverse group of people that swim, bike and run and some of us even do triathlons. We are currently wearing our overly tight triathlon gear from before the pandemic but are always looking for opportunities to spend money on new gear.

Our primary goal for our group is to give members a social support system with people who like triathlons. We are a no pressure group that welcomes anyone regardless of your skill or commitment level. Currently, our members range from serious athletes that do not need training support to athletes that like to cheer their peers on from the sidelines.

We are currently rebuilding our club since the pandemic. We would like our all members to give us suggestions on what they would like to do for training/social activities in the future. This way, we can try to accommodate something for everyone and create a fun inclusive atmosphere.

Should you be interested in joining you can reach out to our club email or any of our current board members. Our sign up and payment is found on CCN similar to signing up for triathlon Manitoba fees.

Our training schedule is small and informal at the moment however we are looking at adding a number of different types of seasonal events, e.g., workout followed by BBQ at Birds Hills Park. All our activities are optional and are often accompanied by some social time out at restaurants or a member’s place. Should you want to join just the training and not the social time or vice versa we welcome that as well.

2025 club members will also gain access to a self-guided training plan. This training plan is created and designed for club members who wish to have a progressive build plan in preparation for a Sprint or Olympic distance triathlon. This plan is designed around one key workout from each discipline per week. It is intended to help each athlete regardless of their initial fitness to build endurance to peak in race readiness for the target race. Each athlete can personalize their training plan based on their own perceived effort, heart rate or power metrics (if available). Our workouts are not typically coached. Future plans for the club include coached sessions and workouts available on Training Peaks for full members.
